Article Correspondence Concerning This Article Should Be Addressed Sent To Fulya Türk(Int Inst Advanced Studies Psychotherapy & Applied Mental Health, 2025) Turk, Fulya; Kul, Aykut; Hamamci, Zeynep; Sungur, Mehmet Zihni; Sahin, Sengul Kocamer; Elboga, GulcinThe global COVID-19 pandemic has exerted profound physical and psychological tolls on healthcare professionals, underscoring the urgent need for their mental health support. The objectives of this research are twofold: first, to develop an e-psychological support program based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy tailored specifically for healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic; second, to assess the program's effectiveness in reducing secondary traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and stress levels, as well as improving healthcare professionals' perception of coping with trauma. Designed as a randomized controlled trial, the study was conducted with 71 healthcare workers employed in a hospital in Gaziantep, Turkey. The developed e-psychological support program consists of six modules: stress model, self-monitoring skills, coping with anxiety, behavioral activation skills, and cognitive restructuring (two modules). The results showing a significant decrease in anxiety, depression, stress and secondary traumatic levels in the intervention group compared to the control group are encouraging. This suggests that the CBT-based e-psychological support program has the potential to have a positive impact on the mental well-being of healthcare professionals. Also, the improvement in healthcare professionals' perception of coping with trauma is an important outcome.CBT has a strong evidence base for treating mental health issues, and adapting it for the specific needs of healthcare workers during a crisis like the pandemic is a promising approach. The development of online interventions for healthcare professionals is valuable not only for the current pandemic but also for future crisis situations. These programs can serve as a template for addressing mental health needs during other global health emergencies.Article Digital Detox: Exploring the Impact of Cybersecurity Fatigue on Employee Productivity and Mental Health(Springer Nature, 2025) Mizrak, Filiz; Demirel, Hatice Gokce; Yasar, Okan; Karakaya, TurhanThis study investigates the growing phenomenon of cybersecurity fatigue and its implications for employee productivity and mental health in the high-demand sectors of information technology (IT), finance, healthcare and education. With this perspective, in this study we investigated effects of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) inducer SNAI1 rs6125849 gene polymorphism on different features of colorectal cancer. Material and methods: A total of 141 Turkish subjects consisting of 72 colorectal cancer patients and 69 healthy controls were included in the study. SNAI1 rs6125849 genotype analyses were performed with Agena MassARRAY platform. Results: We did not find any significant difference between case and control groups for rs6125849 genotypes. All metastatic patients were detected to have homozygous mutant (AA) genotype. Heterozygous and homozygous mutant genotypes (GA + AA) were more common in metastatic colorectal cancer patients compared to those with homozygous wild type (GG) genotype (p = 0.066). We also detected positive, albeit low but significant correlation between rs6125849 genotypes in codominant and dominant models (r = 0.250, p = 0.034 and r = 0.234, p = 0.048, respectively). Overall survival times was found to be considerably higher patients with A allele (Log rank: 3.04, p = 0.081). Conclusion: According to our preliminary results, we may speculate that SNAI1 gene G > A variation may result with a metastatic phenotype and shorter overall survival. Due to limited number of patients in our study group, further in vitro and in vivo studies are required to understand the role of SNAI1 rs6125849 variation on metastasis and survival functions.Article A Host-Parasitoid Dynamics with Allee and Refuge Effects(New York Business Global LLC, 2023) Kulahcioglu, Burcin; Ufuktepe, Unal; Kalampakas, AntoniosWe examine a discrete-time host-parasitoid model incorporating simultaneously an Allee and a refuge effect on the host. Method: The sample of the study consists of 282 children aged 7-12 (M= 9.55, SD = 1.81) and their parents (M= 36.84, SD = 7.04). The Uncertainty Intolerance Scale (IUSC) for Children-Parent Form and Spence Anxiety Scale for Children-Parent (SASC-P) Form were used. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency and two half test reliability coefficients were calculated for the reliability of the IUSC. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was conducted for construct validity and the relationships between the IUSC and the SASC-Parent Form for content validity were evaluated. Results: The CFA analyzes revealed that the 12-item short form of the IUSC had good fit values, and one-factor and two-factor structure were confirmed. As a result of the analyzes significant correlations were found between the total score of the child and parent forms of IUSC-12 and the sub-factors of the SASC-P form, separation anxiety, panic attack, social phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder and agoraphobia scores (child form respectively, r = .25, r = .37, r = .40, r = .25, r = .25; p < .001; parent form respectively, r = .26 , r = .32, r = .43, r = .31, r = .22; p < .001). The reliability analyzes revealed that Cronbach Alpha coefficient for the child form of the IUSC-12 short form was .91 and for the parent form .91. The two half-test Spearman-Brown correlation coefficients were found to be r = .89 for the child form and r = .90 for the parent. Discussion: The results show that parent and child form of the IUSC-12 short form provide reliable and valid results in evaluating the intolerance of uncertainty levels of children in Turkey.Book Part Is It Possible to Define Globalization in One Definition(Springer, 2018) Kivilcim, FulyaWhen approximately past 50 years of past experience considered; it can be defined as a period where bipolar system that dominates the world collapsed and instead, monopole system established and thus, depending on the development of communication and transportation technologies of capitalism, economic, political and cultural dimensions of the relations are changed and intensified among the societies. This period has led to the differentiation in the ways of perceiving the world and in the lifestyles of the societies. In this context, time-space perceptions of societies and the processes of meaning the world began to develop and differ. Thus, globalization emerged where the contrast between far-near is removed and dimension of cross-border interaction developed and the nation states which are important actors of the past periods left their power to local cities and regions. As it can be seen from this, the past time has been subject to a social transformation. Therefore, the concept of globalization has been formed where the contrast between far-near is removed and dimension of cross-border interaction developed. Definition of the concept of globalization in its simplest form is; convergence of countries and people by ignoring the distance between the distant and nearby places and having economic and social interaction with each other. An important element in the definition of globalization is; decisions taken at the local level and adopted policies has the power to pass other nations and influence them. Especially when the last three decades considered; the mankind history felt the power of globalization and it will continue to be felt more effective in the coming years due to the circumstances of the current period. Within this rapid change and development process; supranational organizations that are competitive in global market conditions have taken their place in the process as global actors with their areas of activity they are dominant, organizational structures, understanding of management, forms of competition and capital structures they have. In this study; access to the definition of globalization concept and its evaluation for the last five decades targeted within the framework of approaches to the concept of globalization by emphasizing rapid and radical change.Article Preliminary Findings of Confirmatory Factor Analysis of the Molest Scale and Cognitive Distortions Regarding Child Sexual Abuse in Male University Students in Türkiye(Springer Nature, 2025) Tulu, Ismail Altan; Erden, GulsenBackgroundThe prevalence of cognitive distortions in sex offenders is a significant risk factor for reoffending. This finding is based mostly on research with adult male sex offenders. The number of studies conducted with community samples on this subject is quite low. Research with community samples suggests that cognitive distortions that support sexual offending may be present in all people, but which ones are more triggering for sexual offending? The aim of this study was to conduct a confirmatory factor analysis of the MOLEST Scale among university students and to adapt it to the Turkish language.MethodsThe MOLEST Scale was conducted via online and face-to-face to 18-25 aged university students in T & uuml;rkiye from March 2019 to April 2020. A total sample of 654 young-adult male individuals were divided for validity and EFA (n = 302), reliability (n = 151), and CFA (n = 201).ResultsThe Turkish MOLEST Scale was found to have a three-factor structure, namely Rationalization of Offending Behavior (alpha = 0.89), Minimization of Responsibility for Offending (alpha = 0.74), and Minimization of Victim Harm (alpha = 0.83). In addition, a good scale internal consistency coefficient (alpha = 0.94) was also obtained. The goodness of fit index values met the fit requirements of the 18-item scale with a three-factor structure. The two-half reliability coefficients for the subscales were 0.88, 0.68 and 0.86, respectively.ConclusionThis study revealed that cognitive distortions related to child sexual abuse, as measured by the MOLEST Scale, can be identified among individuals without a history of sexual offenses.Article Solution to the Single Parametric Linear Programming Problems via Simplex-Based Algorithms: Handling the Uncertainties in Costs, Left or Right-Hand Sides(Croatian Operational Research Society, 2026) Ergenecosar, Gizem Temelcan; Kocken, Hale Gonce; Albayrak, Inci; Sivri, MustafaParametric programming is one of the notable approaches to expressing the uncertainties encountered in real life. Many studies express the parameters of the objective function and right-hand side parametrically, but only a few include the parametric coefficient matrix of the constraints. This paper examines the feasibility and optimality conditions of the simplex table and proposes a simplex-based algorithm (dual-simplex, generalized-simplex, or primal-simplex). In the solution process, each case is considered independently through the mathematical analysis of simplex multipliers. Distinct numerical examples illustrate each case to demonstrate the algorithm's implementation.Article Wear Performance of Ductile Iron After Electrolytic Plasma Hardening(Redakcia Kovove Materialy, 2019) Ayday, A.; Durman, M.This study aimed to improve the tribological behavior of electrolytic plasma treated (EPT) ductile iron (DI). For this purpose, ductile iron was electrolytic plasma hardened under different processing parameters (treatment time and thermal cycle). Three different types of specimens were tested: untreated DI, electrolytic plasma hardened DI and remelted DI by two type wear test. It was found that remelted DI performed much better concerning wear resistance than the other samples. The microstructure of the hardened specimens was investigated using optical microscopy. Microhardness profiles and surface hardness were investigated via the Rockwell test. The microstructure and hardness of the EPT hardened layer were dependent on the processing parameters, with the hardness values reaching the range 880-1080 +/- 10 HV0.2.
