Book Part 3D Printing and Logistics(Springer Nature, 2022) Bayraktar, A.N.3D printing is a production process. 3D printing takes place among the techniques known as additive manufacturing and is used in the market as synonymous with additive manufacturing, and even commonly 3D printing is used instead. When there are three elements as digital model, feed material and 3D printer, then the needed product can be produced at any time and at any place by 3D printing. This technique has changed the principles of traditional production as producing the parts separately and then assembling. In other words, the traditional way of business will have been transformed to a new style. 3D printing is a disruptive and a growing trend in the business. It is assumed that 3D printing will cause and economic effect as 230$ billion to $550 billion per year by 2025. Also the increase in enthusiasm of companies in trying and using of this technology supports this assumed economic effect. Worldwide trademarks as Mercedez Benz, BMW, IKEA, Ford have shared their experiences, productions and savings. Experiences with 3D printing have shown that its usage is beneficial. Some of the benefits gained by 3D printing can be defined as shorter lead time, cheap production, fewer stocks, elimination of assembling requirement, acceleration of design process, etc. Shorter lead time, fewer stocks and elimination of flow for assembling requirements point out the change in supply chain and logistics market. With 3D printing, it is possible to produce closer to the customer by minimizing inventory, transportation and handling costs. As a service provider, logistics companies should review their service infrastructure in line with the needs of their customers who will adopt these strategies. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.Book Part A Comparative Analysis of Domestic Vs. The earliest fault detection in motors should be made during transient states throughout the initial starting period. A new approach based on Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) and statistical analysis was presented for detecting stator winding fault by way of transient state phase current of PMSM in this study. Models based on finite elements method were developed for the PMSM representing the healthy and faulty states in order to implement the suggested fault detection method. Afterwards, transient state stator phase winding currents were measured for healthy and faulty states under nominal load in accordance with motor models. These non-linear current signals monitored were separated into its Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMF) via the EMD method. Pearson Correlation Coefficient was used for determining the IMF that most resembles the characteristics of the main signal. Statistical parameter-based feature extractions were carried out for the IMF signals determined for the healthy and faulty states. Fault and fault level detection were carried out successfully by comparing the obtained feature vectors. The acquired results have put forth that the suggested method can be used securely for fault detection in electrical machines especially for early fault detection.Conference Object A Guideline Study for Serious Game Design to Be Used in the Therapy of Abused Children(EUROSIS, 2024) Çatak, G.; Güzelkara, M.D.This study explores the potential of serious games as therapeutic tools in the treatment of child abuse, adopting a comprehensive approach that addresses multiple forms of abuse. In this study, monotonic increasing (or nondecreasing) nonnegative continuous FFs are considered for integration. In the proposed method, first, a fuzzy-valued function (FvF) is induced by a real-valued function (RvF) via extension principle and then each component of the triangular fuzzy valued-function, which is a RvF, is determined as a triangular fuzzy number (TFN) by integrating over the FI. The left and right components of fuzzy integral value are determined from the TFNs obtained by taking the minimum of the left components and the maximum of right components, and the middle component is provided using a ranking function. Some numerical examples are given to explain the methodology. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.Article A Post-Occupancy Evaluation Model Based on Spatio-Temporal Mapping Method for University Outdoor Spaces(Yildiz Technical University, Fac Architecture, 2020) Gocer, Ozqur; Gocer, Kenan; Basol, Altug Melik; Kirac, Mustafa Furkan; Ozbil Torun, Ayse; Bakovic, Mujesira; Ozcan, Baris; Sıddıquı, Faizan Pervez; Torun, Ayşe ÖzbilNot only do university campuses consist of a variety of social and educational buildings, they also create an integrated system with their outdoor spaces and furniture, recreation and landscape areas. Outdoors have the potential to create social interaction, rest and relaxation, recreation, exchange of ideas and a strong sense of ownership and belonging. Creating a common identity for social life by enabling people to communicate and socialize with each other is the most important function of outdoor spaces. However, although the rationality of external spaces is designed, it is possible to use other than what is expected in practice. The relationship between the external spaces and the building groups, the adequacy, the duration of use, the accessibility and the interaction of the physical environment should be examined with a holistic approach to understand the difference between expectations and reality. In order to identify user needs in outdoor spaces as a way to assess if human use and design intentions are in fact successful, post occupancy evaluation (POE) is recommended as the most significant advanced method. Unfortunately, although studies on the evaluation of indoor spaces have been increasing day by day, there is no comprehensive study of POE that can be applied to the outdoor spaces, especially in university campuses. In this study, a POE method which discusses the variables that affect the use of outdoor space and the interaction between these variables is introduced. The proposed method was applied in a suburban university campus and the results were evaluated in terms of outdoor use.Conference Object A Robust Hybrid Control Model Implementation for Autonomous Vehicles(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2024) Al-Jumaili, M.H.; Ekşioǧlu, Y.E.; IBRAHIM, A.A.; Bayat, O.; Ozok, Yasa EksiogluThis work presents a robust control strategy for controlling autonomous vehicles under various conditions. While the costs of the objective function and the coefficients of constraints are triangular fuzzy rough numbers, the variables are in the triangular fuzzy form. Fuzzy optimal solutions are found by solving two distinct fully fuzzy linear programming (FFLP) problems, obtained from the lower and upper approximations of the FRLP problem. These solutions are utilized to evaluate different fuzzy objective function values, and these values are compared according to their supports to specify the worst and the best fuzzy rough compromise solutions. The decision-maker (DM) can make a final decision within the bounds of these supports according to the direction of the optimization. Also, the algorithm yields approximate fuzzy rough compromise solutions in the infeasibility case of the FFLP problems. To demonstrate the efficiency of the algorithm, some numerical examples are illustrated.Book Part A Strategic Approach to Cyberattacks and Risk Management(IGI Global, 2025) Tasar, S.A.Cybersecurity has become an extremely important issue that companies need to focus on to guarantee the safety of their information systems. Huseyin; Karademir, DevrimWith its increasingly expanding uses, the furniture industry has become a basic industrial sector in the world, especially in the developed countries, and it represents 2% of the total labour and 2% to 4% of the total production. The global foreign trade of furniture was around $174 billion in 2008. Though it has been growing fast, the furniture industry in Turkey is far from the level in the developed countries. In regard to the Turkish furniture industry, 99% of which consists of small and medium scale enterprises, just like all the other industries, few data are needed to be able to make accurate evaluations. The current conditions in the small and medium scale enterprises have been neatly described in this study. It tries to offer solutions to the problems, analyze the competition opportunities and shed light for future studies by eliminating inadequate data. It is the first study in the field since there has not been such research which covers the whole country except for the regional ones. Also, this project is supplementary to the studies carried out by the researchers on the large-scale enterprises, the whole industry is analyzed.Article Analyses of Chemical and Physical Egg Quality Parameters of Laying Hens Housed in Different Conditions in Turkey(Sakarya University, 2023) Uysal Afacan, R.S.; Afacan, Reyhan Selin UysalThe aim of the present study is to determine the content of chemical and physical quality parameters of hen eggs (liquid whole egg (LWE), liquid egg yolk (LEY), and liquid egg white (LEW)) produced for different housing and feeding conditions in Turkey. Chemical quality parameters (protein, lipid, and moisture) and physical quality parameters (total soluble solid (°Brix), pH, conductivity, and yolk:white ratio) were analyzed using different egg samples. Kjeldahl, wet ashing, and oven-drying official methods were used for the protein, total lipid, and moisture analyses of egg samples. The highest protein content in the LEY and LEW samples were found to be 19.0% and 15.13%, respectively for the tenth sample having fortified feeding (selenium+DHA) parameters. For LWE samples, it was also obtained 15.65% with the second sample having a not fortified feeding parameter. The highest total lipid content for LWE samples was determined as 10.43% for the seventh sample which housed under cage free conditions and fed with organic (omega3+EPA+DHA) fortifiers, while it was found with a value 25.7% for the second and third LEY samples possessing a not fortified feeding parameters. The highest moisture content was determined as 78.37%, 54.64%, and 89.11 for thirty-first LWE sample (with not fortified feeding), third LEY sample (with not fortified feeding) and sixth LEW sample (having cage free and organic parameters), respectively. As a result, the minimum, average, and maximum contents of the chemical and physical quality parameters were determined for laying hen eggs raised in several housing and feeding conditions in Turkey. © 2023, Sakarya University.
