Derin Öğrenmeyi Kullanarak Yapay Zeka Destekli Tarım Ürünlerinde Hastalık Tespiti
Abstract
Plant diseases reduce crop yield and quality, threatening farm incomes and food security. This thesis develops an AI-assisted crop disease detection system that classifies leaf photographs into 38 disease and healthy categories covering 14 crop species. The study uses a widely adopted PlantVillage-derived benchmark dataset distributed on Kaggle and implements transfer learning with the MobileNetV2 convolutional neural network for efficient, deployable inference. A two-phase training strategy (feature extraction followed by partial fine-tuning) is adopted alongside conservative data augmentation to improve generalisation. The trained model is integrated into a desktop decision-support application that performs offline inference and returns ranked predictions with confidence scores. Beyond reporting aggregate performance, the thesis provides detailed error analysis, discusses dataset bias and domain-shift risks, and proposes practical decision rules for when the system should return a diagnosis versus an 'uncertain' outcome. The resulting work contributes an end-to-end, reproducible pipeline and a deployment-oriented baseline that can be extended through field data collection, confidence calibration, and open-set recognition mechanisms.
