Book Part 3D Printing and Logistics(Springer Nature, 2022) Bayraktar, A.N.3D printing is a production process. 3D printing takes place among the techniques known as additive manufacturing and is used in the market as synonymous with additive manufacturing, and even commonly 3D printing is used instead. When there are three elements as digital model, feed material and 3D printer, then the needed product can be produced at any time and at any place by 3D printing. This technique has changed the principles of traditional production as producing the parts separately and then assembling. In other words, the traditional way of business will have been transformed to a new style. 3D printing is a disruptive and a growing trend in the business. It is assumed that 3D printing will cause and economic effect as 230$ billion to $550 billion per year by 2025. Also the increase in enthusiasm of companies in trying and using of this technology supports this assumed economic effect. Worldwide trademarks as Mercedez Benz, BMW, IKEA, Ford have shared their experiences, productions and savings. Experiences with 3D printing have shown that its usage is beneficial. Some of the benefits gained by 3D printing can be defined as shorter lead time, cheap production, fewer stocks, elimination of assembling requirement, acceleration of design process, etc. Shorter lead time, fewer stocks and elimination of flow for assembling requirements point out the change in supply chain and logistics market. With 3D printing, it is possible to produce closer to the customer by minimizing inventory, transportation and handling costs. As a service provider, logistics companies should review their service infrastructure in line with the needs of their customers who will adopt these strategies. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.Article Accreditation of Communication Education in Turkiye: Research on the Views of Administrator Academicians in Accredited Programs(Istanbul Univ, Fac Communication, 2023) Kaygusuz, ErdincThe subject of this study is an examination of how communication programs are accredited in Turkiye in the context of the views of administrator academicians. The research aims to explore the views of administrator academicians who are deans, vice deans, or heads of departments in their institutions regarding the accreditation of communication education in Turkiye. The study interviews 11 administrator academicians working in accredited undergraduate programs under communication faculties or the other faculties in which communication programs are included Turkiye, with the study sample being selected using multi-stage sampling. Proportional stratified and purposive sampling was also used to ensure that the groups in the universe are represented in proportion to their weights. Although minor problems exist in practice, accreditation has been concluded to play a developing role for institutions. Accordingly, accreditation allows institutions to renew, to correct the deficiencies in their organizational chart, to update the curriculum, to strengthen the teaching staff, to increase physical environments and opportunities, and to develop financial resources. In this respect, accreditation in communication education in Turkiye is seen as a concrete output rather than a corporate reputation provider. The findings support other studies that have focused on the benefits of accreditation.Article Action Research About Development of Student's Artistic Form of Expression by Conceptual Art Activities(Ani Publishing, 2019) Basar, Cigdem Tanyel; Ince, MetinSince the 1960's, rapid changes and transformations in the field of art have been experienced in the light of the technological and social developments that have been experienced, and the expression forms and thought forms of today's art have differentiated. According to the aging data of the United Nations, there is an increase in the number and proportion of elderly individuals in the world. As a result, in this case, Turkey does not differ, so the elderly population is increasing with each passing day. Understanding and prevention of adipocyte deaths may be a molecular approach in the treatment. In the study, we aimed to understand role of Niban gene, which acts as an anti-apoptotic molecule as a response to stress conditions, in adipocytes. 3T3-L1 adipocytes were treated with different doses of linoleic acid, hydrogen peroxide and ethanol; and proliferation of the cells examined with real time monitoring iCELLingence system. Gene expression levels were measured by q-PCR. As a response to 24h 480 mu M linoleic acid treatment, Niban gene expression was found to be higher than control group (p = 0.008), whereas 24 h 90 mM ethanol treatment was determined to be lower than control group (p = 0.008). The highest value of Niban gene expression among H2O2 treatment groups was detected in 4h 600 mu M H2O2 in comparison to control group (p = 0.008). To understand role of Niban in adipogenesis, Niban gene expressions were compared between pre-adipocytes and advanced fat accumulated adipocytes and determined to be significantly different (p = 0.042). Our results suggest that Niban might be involved in stress response process in adipocytes. However, the exact molecular role of Niban needs to be investigated in further studies.Article Analyses of Chemical and Physical Egg Quality Parameters of Laying Hens Housed in Different Conditions in Turkey(Sakarya University, 2023) Uysal Afacan, R.S.The aim of the present study is to determine the content of chemical and physical quality parameters of hen eggs (liquid whole egg (LWE), liquid egg yolk (LEY), and liquid egg white (LEW)) produced for different housing and feeding conditions in Turkey. Chemical quality parameters (protein, lipid, and moisture) and physical quality parameters (total soluble solid (°Brix), pH, conductivity, and yolk:white ratio) were analyzed using different egg samples. Kjeldahl, wet ashing, and oven-drying official methods were used for the protein, total lipid, and moisture analyses of egg samples. The highest protein content in the LEY and LEW samples were found to be 19.0% and 15.13%, respectively for the tenth sample having fortified feeding (selenium+DHA) parameters. For LWE samples, it was also obtained 15.65% with the second sample having a not fortified feeding parameter. The highest total lipid content for LWE samples was determined as 10.43% for the seventh sample which housed under cage free conditions and fed with organic (omega3+EPA+DHA) fortifiers, while it was found with a value 25.7% for the second and third LEY samples possessing a not fortified feeding parameters. The highest moisture content was determined as 78.37%, 54.64%, and 89.11 for thirty-first LWE sample (with not fortified feeding), third LEY sample (with not fortified feeding) and sixth LEW sample (having cage free and organic parameters), respectively. As a result, the minimum, average, and maximum contents of the chemical and physical quality parameters were determined for laying hen eggs raised in several housing and feeding conditions in Turkey. © 2023, Sakarya University. The results indicate that airports post content related to the SDGs, but they mostly focus on economic and operational topics, especially SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), which emphasizes digital advancements, new services, and infrastructure improvements. Airports display environmental themes, albeit in limited and uneven ways. From a strategic innovation perspective, airports tend to signal sustainability primarily through modernization and efficiency narratives rather than comprehensive environmental transformation. Accordingly, airport operators should move beyond symbolic messaging by communicating measurable environmental targets, actions, and outcomes on Instagram. © 2026 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. The recent decades of earthquakes and environmental hazards in T & uuml;rkiye have necessitated extensive post-disaster reconstruction initiatives nationwide. In response, TOKI has completed numerous disaster housing projects across the country through an integrated infrastructure framework supporting community recovery. This study presents an extensive statistical evaluation of 664 disaster housing projects constructed by TOKI across 40 provinces. Specifically, a quantitative analysis is conducted on 434 disaster housing projects for which detailed financial data are available. This research examines differences in construction costs between urban mass housing developments and rural village settlements, particularly focusing on the integration of functional structures such as schools, mosques, commercial units, and barns. Although mass housing projects require significantly larger total budgets due to their extensive scale, statistical analysis reveals no significant difference in per-unit construction costs between mass housing and village housing projects. Regression analysis indicates that incorporating barns increased per-unit construction costs, while the presence of schools and mosques significantly decreases these expenses. The findings of this research provide critical insights into the economic and functional factors influencing disaster housing reconstruction in T & uuml;rkiye and offer practical recommendations for improved planning, resource management, and community reconstruction based on an evaluation of functional structures.Article Analyzing Criteria Affecting Decision-Making Processes of Human Resource Management in the Aviation Sector – A Fuzzy Logic Approach(2023) Mızrak, FilizIn today's fast-paced and ever-changing business landscape, effective decision-making is paramount to achieving success and maintaining a competitive edge. This genre famously features protagonists who perform miraculous actions with unpredictable outcomes, the details of which can be conveniently left unvisualized under the guise of stylistic omission. Today, however, as 3D modeling and animation techniques are integrated more and more visibly into the animation pipeline, the relatively easier portrayal of seamless physical performance as spectacle may conflict with the mystery of how the shōnen hero operates. This chapter seeks to determine whether the concept of “3D anime” is plausible and how the shōnen anime narrative remains animeesque in terms of causal ambiguity. © Cambridge University Press & Assessment 2024.Article Applicability of a Digitalization Model Based on Augmented Reality for Building Construction Education in Architecture(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, 2023) Guray, Tayibe Seyman; Kismet, BurcuPurpose The purpose of this paper is to introduce a digitalization model (DM) for building construction courses in architectural education as a response to the recent emerging technologies in the era of digital transformations. This DM is developed and applied through augmented reality (AR) technologies to boost perception, understandings and ability to solve building construction details. Design/methodology/approach Based on a thorough review of recent technologies like AR, virtual reality (VR), building information modelling (BIM) and their applications in architectural education, the methodology involves the generation of a model, its application and evaluation. The model is based on the integration of BIM and AR which is applied into a third year "Building Construction Project" course. Each student has designed a residential building and accordingly prepared the construction drawings by adapting the DM. An online survey -based on Technology Acceptance Model - is conducted to evaluate the DM by quantitative data analysis from SPSS and Excel. Findings The key findings of the study include the following items: determination of the proper digital tools, the definition of the steps and workflow based on the building project phases to develop construction drawings and define precise details effectively. By the help of this, the DM is generated and applied. According to the survey and results, the DM which involves BIM-based AR is considered as beneficial, highly motivating and providing better perception on construction details. Originality/value Implication of AR/VR technologies is frequently seen in design studios, whereas building construction courses state its traditional approach. However, there is a huge potential in the digitalization of building construction education by increasing the perception of students together with the increased level of communication. The study aims to close the gap of digitalization by proposing a DM, which brings a systematic approach considering each phase of building construction project as conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents by using BIM integrated AR. Moreover, the novel model specifically brings a new approach by generation of QR codes for construction details to embed videos or simulations into the two-dimensional drawing sheets. Furthermore, the DM proposes a new approach to satisfy emerging needs and requirements of the Architecture Engineering Construction industry.Article Applications of Exosome Vesicles in Different Cancer Types as Biomarkers(Bentham Science Publishing Ltd, 2024) Ihlamur, Murat; Kelleci, Kubra; Zengin, Yagmur; Allahverdiyev, M. Adil; Abamor, Emrah SefikOne of the biggest challenges in the fight against cancer is early detection. Early diagnosis is vital, but there are some barriers such as economic, cultural, and personal factors. Considering the disadvantages of radiological imaging techniques or serological analysis methods used in cancer diagnosis, such as being expensive, requiring expertise, and being time-consuming, there is a need to develop faster, more reliable, and cost-effective diagnostic methods for use in cancer diagnosis.Exosomes, which are responsible for intercellular communication with sizes ranging from 30-120 nm, are naturally produced biological nanoparticles. Thanks to the cargo contents they carry, they are a potential biomarker to be used in the diagnosis of cancer. Exosomes, defined as extracellular vesicles of endosomal origin, are effective in cancer growth, progression, metastasis, and drug resistance, and changes in microenvironmental conditions during tumor development change exosome secretion. Due to their high cellular activity, tumor cells produce much higher exosomes than healthy cells. Therefore, it is known that the number of exosomes in body fluids is significantly rich compared to other cells and can act as a stand-alone diagnostic biomarker. Cancer-derived exosomes have received great attention in recent years for the early detection of cancer and the evaluation of therapeutic response. In this article, the content, properties, and differences of exosomes detected in common types of cancer (lung, liver, pancreas, ovaries, breast, colorectal), which are the leading causes of cancer-related deaths, are reviewed. We also discuss the potential utility of exosome contents as a biomarker for early detection, which is known to be important in targeted cancer therapy.Article Applying Entropy Weighting and 2-Tuple Linguistic T-Spherical Fuzzy MCDM: A Case Study of Developing a Strategic Sustainability Plan for Istanbul Airport(MDPI, 2024) Mizrak, Filiz; Polat, Levent; Tasar, Sezin AcikThis study presents a novel sustainability plan tailored for Istanbul Airport, leveraging advanced decision-making methodologies to address the urgent need for sustainable practices in aviation.
