Book Part 3D Printing and Logistics(Springer Nature, 2022) Bayraktar, A.N.3D printing is a production process. 3D printing takes place among the techniques known as additive manufacturing and is used in the market as synonymous with additive manufacturing, and even commonly 3D printing is used instead. When there are three elements as digital model, feed material and 3D printer, then the needed product can be produced at any time and at any place by 3D printing. This technique has changed the principles of traditional production as producing the parts separately and then assembling. In other words, the traditional way of business will have been transformed to a new style. 3D printing is a disruptive and a growing trend in the business. It is assumed that 3D printing will cause and economic effect as 230$ billion to $550 billion per year by 2025. Also the increase in enthusiasm of companies in trying and using of this technology supports this assumed economic effect. Worldwide trademarks as Mercedez Benz, BMW, IKEA, Ford have shared their experiences, productions and savings. Experiences with 3D printing have shown that its usage is beneficial. Some of the benefits gained by 3D printing can be defined as shorter lead time, cheap production, fewer stocks, elimination of assembling requirement, acceleration of design process, etc. Shorter lead time, fewer stocks and elimination of flow for assembling requirements point out the change in supply chain and logistics market. With 3D printing, it is possible to produce closer to the customer by minimizing inventory, transportation and handling costs. As a service provider, logistics companies should review their service infrastructure in line with the needs of their customers who will adopt these strategies. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.Article Afet Bakış Açısıyla Lojistik Depo Yeri Seçimi: İstanbul Beykoz İlçesi Üzerine Bir Uygulama(2021) Durdağ, Celil; Ergenecoşar, Sabri; Kinik, Zeynel; Yılmaz, Kurthan KubilayAfetlerin sonuçlarını incelediğimizde can ve mal kaybı haricinde toplumsal olarak da yaşanantravmaların çok olduğunu görebilmekteyiz. The data in this study was collected from the literature review and from written sources. In the literature, the concept of age is divided into two: biological and chronological. Although chronological age is the same in all humans, biological age varies according to individuals. Chronological age is the number of years a person has been alive. Biological age is the representation of the biological step as a unit of time. Aging is the state where individuals gradually lose their physical and psychological power. The increasingly elderly population has also caused the academic environment to focus on the field of older people. Moreover, the increasing elderly population has accelerated the process of developing national policies and plans in countries and the process of producing services in line with the developed plans and policies. According to the aging data of the United Nations, there is an increase in the number and proportion of elderly individuals in the world. As a result, in this case, Turkey does not differ, so the elderly population is increasing with each passing day. Chemical quality parameters (protein, lipid, and moisture) and physical quality parameters (total soluble solid (°Brix), pH, conductivity, and yolk:white ratio) were analyzed using different egg samples. Kjeldahl, wet ashing, and oven-drying official methods were used for the protein, total lipid, and moisture analyses of egg samples. The highest protein content in the LEY and LEW samples were found to be 19.0% and 15.13%, respectively for the tenth sample having fortified feeding (selenium+DHA) parameters. For LWE samples, it was also obtained 15.65% with the second sample having a not fortified feeding parameter. The highest total lipid content for LWE samples was determined as 10.43% for the seventh sample which housed under cage free conditions and fed with organic (omega3+EPA+DHA) fortifiers, while it was found with a value 25.7% for the second and third LEY samples possessing a not fortified feeding parameters. The highest moisture content was determined as 78.37%, 54.64%, and 89.11 for thirty-first LWE sample (with not fortified feeding), third LEY sample (with not fortified feeding) and sixth LEW sample (having cage free and organic parameters), respectively. As a result, the minimum, average, and maximum contents of the chemical and physical quality parameters were determined for laying hen eggs raised in several housing and feeding conditions in Turkey. © 2023, Sakarya University. The results indicate that airports post content related to the SDGs, but they mostly focus on economic and operational topics, especially SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), which emphasizes digital advancements, new services, and infrastructure improvements. Airports display environmental themes, albeit in limited and uneven ways. From a strategic innovation perspective, airports tend to signal sustainability primarily through modernization and efficiency narratives rather than comprehensive environmental transformation. Accordingly, airport operators should move beyond symbolic messaging by communicating measurable environmental targets, actions, and outcomes on Instagram. © 2026 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. This holds particularly true in the aviation sector, where Human Resource Management (HRM) plays a pivotal role in optimizing workforce performance and ensuring operational efficiency. However, HRM decision-making processes are often confronted with multifaceted challenges that encompass various criteria and encompass both objective and subjective factors. To tackle this complexity, a novel and adaptive approach is needed. In this study, we employ a Fuzzy Logic Approach to analyze the criteria influencing decision-making processes in HRM within the aviation sector, aiming to provide a comprehensive and flexible decision-support system for HRM practitioners and contribute to the sector's overall performance and success. The contribution of this study lies in its innovative application of Fuzzy Logic to HRM decision-making in the aviation sector. By capturing the inherent uncertainties and vagueness that HRM practitioners encounter, the proposed Fuzzy Logic-based model offers a more robust and context-sensitive decision-support system. Based on the Fuzzy Logic application and sensitivity analysis, the findings reveal the significance of employee satisfaction as the most influential criterion in HRM decision-making within the aviation sector. The Fuzzy Logic model demonstrated a strong positive correlation between high employee satisfaction levels and favorable HRM Decision Outcomes. This finding emphasizes the pivotal role of employee satisfaction in shaping HRM strategies and outcomes within aviation organizations.Book Analyzing Ideology and Narratology in Film Series, Sequels, and Trilogies(IGI Global, 2024) Seçmen, E.A.The study of ideology and narratology in film reveals intricate layers of meaning and cultural significance embedded within cinematic narratives. This genre famously features protagonists who perform miraculous actions with unpredictable outcomes, the details of which can be conveniently left unvisualized under the guise of stylistic omission. Today, however, as 3D modeling and animation techniques are integrated more and more visibly into the animation pipeline, the relatively easier portrayal of seamless physical performance as spectacle may conflict with the mystery of how the shōnen hero operates. This chapter seeks to determine whether the concept of “3D anime” is plausible and how the shōnen anime narrative remains animeesque in terms of causal ambiguity. © Cambridge University Press & Assessment 2024.Article An Approach to Predicting the Effect of Shadows from Surrounding Buildings on the Performance of Solar Photovoltaic(Gazi Üniversitesi, 2025) Yongkuan, S.; Wei, N.; Shanwu, Z.; Garip, I.For a photovoltaic system in an urban building, building shadow occlusion is an often-encountered problem, photovoltaic array covered area will change with time, resulting in the photovoltaic array output volt-ampere performance curve being also different with time. With the engineering analytical model of silicon solar cells, the series-parallel of electrical circuits theory, and the solar Angle change formula, an approach to predicting the effect of shadows from surrounding buildings on the performance of solar photovoltaics is established. The simulation results show the difference of the PV array’s I-V and P-V performance curves with periods. An actual test is carried out for the completed photovoltaic project with building shadow occlusion, and the comparison with Matlab simulation I-V and P-V performance curve proves the predicting model can describe the output performance of the PV array with building shadow occlusion. © (2025), (Gazi Universitesi). Böylelikle, Arendt ve Rancière’in politikayı yeniden sahiplenme arayışına sunduğu kuramsal olanakların yanı sıra aralarındaki gerilimin çağdaş politika kuramı açısından anlamını değerlendirebiliriz.Book Part Art as an Apparatus of the Invisible Sublime in Severance(Springer Nature, 2024) Bayrak Shahmiri, B.This essay analyzes the process of blending styles and visual layering in Severance, as well as the artistic elements that create the atmosphere and narrative. With its cold color scheme, large empty spaces, and references to minimalist painters as well as the uncanny landscapes of Edward Hopper, the show uses modernist aesthetics to underline the solitary nature of the individual. In addition, the Kantian, nature-originated sublime found in nineteenth-century paintings of artists such as Caspar David Friedrich and Frederic Edwin Church is warped through the cut-and-paste inserts of video game forms and the rearticulation of their elements in order to create a fluid palimpsest of technological and mythical sublime. © The Editor(s)(if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.Book Part Artificial Intelligence in Quality Control and Product Development(Elsevier, 2025) Aydınocak, E.U.Product development and continuous improvement have become a high priority for the chemical industry due to factors such as increasing competition, new technologies, more demanding customers, greater product variety, and shorter product life cycles. The increasing pressure on product development has led chemical companies to evaluate the stages of the product development process carefully. In product development, preparation and technical analysis are particularly critical. The knowledge and experience gained in the preparation phase can eliminate risky and costly activities in the later stages of the process. In addition, the testing and evaluation phases are critical elements that can provide meaningful feedback before commercialization. Another issue that chemical manufacturers work on, both for new and existing products, is quality control (QC). Manufacturers need to ensure that the product’s quality meets customer expectations. Making QC processes more efficient is one of the issues the industry has been working on for a long time. Therefore, using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in product development and QC has become inevitable. McKinsey asserted that the implementation of AI has the potential to enhance market fit by up to 50%, achieve product performance improvements ranging from 15 to 60%, attain up to 50% increased workplace productivity, and facilitate a reduction in time to market of up to 40%. According to the research conducted by Bain & Company, AI is predicted to result in a 20% reduction in engineering hours and a 5-30% reduction in costs. © 2026 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.Book Part Artificial Intelligence: A New Paradigm for Leadership(IGI Global, 2024) Aktaş, B.N.This chapter explores the transformative role of technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), in reshaping leadership within organizational contexts. The growing literature on authoritarian neoliberalism examines the relationship between authoritarian governance and neoliberalisation, and interrogates how neoliberal reforms buttress the legal, administrative, and coercive power of states, creating leverage for ruling governments to enhance authoritarian forms of governance. While these studies highlight the vulnerability of these regimes and emphasise their crisis-laden character, there is a need for an extensive analysis of the dynamics of resistance in authoritarian neoliberal regimes to understand the limits and potentials of counter-hegemonic practices. Using in-depth case studies, this book demonstrates the repertoires of resistance against authoritarian neoliberalism in Turkey and discusses how different sections of society, including NGOs, bureaucrats, media, workers, marginalised communities and activists, challenge or reinforce neoliberal policies with their claims, tactics, strategies, and discourses. Drawing upon multidisciplinary scholarship from sociology, politics, law, media, urban development, and feminist studies, this book sheds light on the capacity of resistance to challenge the authoritarian forms of the neoliberal regime from within.Book Authoritarian Neoliberalism and Resistance in Turkey: Construction, Consolidation, and Contestation(Springer Nature, 2021) Borsuk, İ.; Dinç, P.; Kavak, S.; Sayan, P.This book offers new clarity on three important political concepts: authoritarianism, neoliberalism, and resistance. While debates on authoritarian resurgence have been limited to the examination of political factors (e.g., polarisation, conflict) until recently, the rising literature on ‘authoritarian neoliberalism’ highlights how the neoliberal restructuring of political economy bolsters the authoritarian tendencies of elected governments both in the Global South and the Global North. This book will be an invaluable resource not only to scholars of Turkey and the Middle East but also to researchers into authoritarianism and neoliberalism around the world.
